Transitional Living Program

Kids who stay at the Harbor until they reach the age of 16 have the opportunity to participate in the Transitional Living Program, which teaches them the life skills they will need to become independent, self-sufficient adults. Still under close supervision, participants in the Transitional Living Program take on more responsibility for daily chores such as laundry and meal preparation. They also learn how to manage a bank account and budget their funds. With self-sufficiency comes independence; success is rewarded with special privileges. The goal of the program is to teach kids about the rewards and challenges of adulthood just as a loving parent would do.

For additional information regarding the Transitional Living Program at the Harbor, please contact Sylvia Lee, Director of Social Services, at (281) 471-9622.
